“Leave No Child Behind” is a law that was originally passed by former President Bush to set standards for schools to see how well the students are doing. President Obama signed a new law on Thursday to let ten states free of these requirements. I liked this article because we have recently discussed that our Federal System Power is shared and the national government dictates what the states can do in certain situations.
In an Article in The Dallas Morning News we find that President Obama has relieved ten of our states with the current standards for children in school. Texas has not even applied for this waiver. I both like and dislike this new law. It is a good thing that we are not pressuring our teachers to “teach to the test” but also to look at a child on a whole level instead of just on math and reading.
